Domestic Dispute Triggers SWAT Team for Texarkana Man

TEXARKANA, Texas - What began as a family violence incident led to a close call with the SWAT team to 40-year old Texarkana resident, Andrew Brown who was arrested assault-family violence charge on Wednesday, 3-24-2021.

Nearby witnesses notified the authorities by calling 911 upon seeing Mr. Brown forcibly holding his 10 year old son down while repeating a violent motion with scissors in his hand, acting as if he were stabbing himself in the chest before forcing the boy into the domicile where he remained, refusing to speak with authorities once they arrived.

While authorities repeatedly attempted to communicate with Mr. Brown in an effort to urge him to come out of the house, he refused to do so until he was told that the SWAT team had been activated and was on its way to his house. Upon hearing this, he came out peacefully and was arrested shortly afterward after being examined by medics and finally taken to the Bi-State Jail.
